About Me

After graduating from Hidden Valley High School, I found myself drawn to the fire service. What began as a calling became a career that spanned nearly three decades. During that time, I had the privilege of serving communities, working alongside dedicated professionals, and responding when people needed help most.

That career eventually brought me back home to Josephine County as a retired firefighter. Returning home wasn’t about slowing down—it was about finding new ways to continue serving the community that raised me.

After returning, I went to work in the Josephine County Assessor’s Office as an Appraiser Trainee. This experience gave me firsthand knowledge of property valuation, taxation, and the land use issues that affect property owners across our county. It also gave me valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of county government and the challenges faced by both staff and citizens.

Over the last six years, I have dedicated a significant amount of time to studying the role and responsibilities of the Josephine County Board of Commissioners. I have spent countless hours attending commissioner meetings, work sessions, and public hearings. I have spoken at meetings, asked questions, listened to citizens, and paid close attention to the decisions that shape the future of our county. Through that process, I have developed a deep understanding of the issues Josephine County faces and the importance of thoughtful, accountable leadership.

My involvement in county government goes beyond attending meetings. I currently serve on the Josephine County Rural Planning Commission, where I have served as both a Commissioner and now as Chair. In this role, I work with fellow commissioners, county staff, and members of the public to review land use matters that directly affect property owners and rural communities. These decisions require careful consideration, respect for property rights, and a commitment to responsible planning.

I also serve as Vice Chair of the Josephine Housing and Community Development Council. In this role, we work to address housing challenges within the county while supporting programs that strengthen our communities and expand opportunities for residents.

Public safety and community service have always been central to my life. In addition to my past career in the fire service, I also serve on the board of a local fire district. This role allows me to continue contributing to the safety and well-being of our community while helping guide decisions that affect emergency services and rural fire protection.

Through all of these roles, one thing has remained constant: I believe public service means showing up, doing the work, and being accountable to the people you represent. Josephine County is not just where I live—it is home. It is where I grew up, where I built the foundation of my life, and where I chose to return after my career because I care deeply about the future of this community. I believe our county deserves leadership that listens to the people, respects property rights, values responsible government, and focuses on practical solutions rather than politics.

I am running for Josephine County Commissioner because I believe my experience, my involvement, and my commitment to this community have prepared me to serve the people of Josephine County with integrity, common sense, accountability, and ethics.

I am not running to build a political career. I am running to serve the people of Josephine County and help ensure that our community remains a place where families can live, work, and thrive for generations to come.
